Is it time to go out and buy a Mac?

Take Away:

We have Vista, they have Leopard, we have an anemic find, they have a great Spotlight. We have the registry, they have, well, they don't have a registry. We are the Empire, they are the Rebel Jedi. Windows vs. Macs, who is the clear winner here?

We have Vista, they have Leopard, we have an anemic find, they have a great Spotlight. We have the registry, they have, well, they don't have a registry. We are the Empire, they are the Rebel Jedi. Windows vs. Macs, who is the clear winner here?

Let me say this upfront: I'm a PC guy, always have been, always will be, I make my money with the PC, not the Mac. But I can't help but think if the Mac were the dominant platform in this world a lot of us would be without a job in the PC business.

It wasn't always like this, Apple was first to market in the 80's with a monochrome monitor, no floppy and no harddrive. They were the only game in town until IBM came out with the PC, and the rest is history.

Or is it? Many people wrote off Apple to a special niche in the market with graphics and artsy people. That's no longer the case, Apple's been slowly gaining ground on the PC and comming out with sexy, powerful and fun to use machines. Here are some more reasons for Apple's resurgence:

  • Security: The hackers of the world united and decided to take on the Empire, (Microsoft) and it's emperor, Bill Gates. Hardly a virus has been written for the Mac, expect that to change as they gather market share.
  • Intel Processors: Has Apple come over to the dark side with Intel? Hardly, but it has made it possible for them to rapidly bring products to market and, run Windows on a Mac. No longer can you say, "It doesn't do Windows". For many people that was the last barrier to fall, allowing them to go out and buy the family a Mac.
  • Ease of use: Windows is always lagging the Mac on the latest usability features. Check out the new trackpad gestures for the Mac Air, simply brillant.

Back to my original point, is it time to buy a Mac? It depends on your situation, but now there are valid reasons to join the Rebels and face the empire.

No, I don`t think so as the Mac book is selling very huge price and that to without any deals on it, which is little bit wasting our money. I am also waiting to buy Mac and searching best essay service review blog everyday to know that is there any good deal is offered on Mac book.

Juan:  I totally agree with you.  My last apple was a II+ in 1982 until last Friday. iMac rocks. I've been doing IT for about 20 years, I need to stay up with the technology...Even if my bread is baked by M$ //gy
