Delphi Language Basics:
Delphi Case Sensitivity (No)

Languages Focus: Case Sensitivity

Case sensitiviy in this case is referring to commands and variable names. For example, are "printf" and "PrintF" equivalent? Are fullname and FullName equivalent? When you create commands, operations, methods, or variables should you worry about case?

Delphi Case Sensitivity

Object Pascal is generally not case sensitive.

Syntax Example:

Variables and commands are not case sensitive.

FullName: String;
fullname := 'Mike Prestwood';

Cannot Declare Different Cased Variables

The compiler will not let you compile two variables within the same scope with the same name even with different case:

  MyName : String;
  MYNAME : String; //Compiler error!

Wrong Cased Variables Legal

Although you probably should stick with consistent casing, it is legal. If can declare a variable with one case and to use it with another case.

For example:

//The following mixed case varialbes work:
MyName : String;
myname := 'Lisa';
ShowMessage('Hello ' + MYNAME);

Thank you for doing these sample questions! Question#8 could be clarified a bit more though to specify that the different case variables cannot be used within the same scope (thus the answer is False). At first I thought the question was asking if either case could be used in Delphi (I was thinking different scopes), which would lead to a True answer.

The area of the PrestWood where you can go for the IT solutions to make your life more good. With the https://www.brillassignment.co.uk/research-paper/ you can also find the custom apps and can find the new business shop here. You can also find the Delphi code snippet.

That is somewhat more complex than it looks like because keeping the dat at that huge level is not an easy task for the employees or the researchers so the help of essaywritinglab is taken by the authorities to make their BTW and WTM more comfortable for all of us.

1 Beginner Level Question

Question #1: True or False?

In Delphi you can declare and make use of same named-different case variables (two distinct variables) as in the following:

MyName : String;
MYNAME : String;
  • True
  • False
