Prior to 32-bit Windows, you could open a TextStream directly to a port. Starting with 32-bit Windows, the acceptable technique is to use a third party control. For Delphi projects, we've used ASync Pro very successfully on several projects.On one of the projects we used a UDS-10 to communicate to LED signs all over the world. It's a pretty cool application.You might want to wrap ASync Pro and use it. However, since you are in Paradox, you might want to look for an ActiveX control that does the job.

You could use the Win32 API calls directly, but it's alot easier to use an existing library like ASync Pro.

Thank you very much !

I found Async Pro on sourceforge and this seem to be what i need (and search for 3 days..) I have made hundred of forms but never i used and API. Now is late (01:33) but i will give a try tommorow morning. 

 An API can be used by RunTime, in fdl ?

I have instaled the API, but now I am working on tests with AsyncPro (very pro !) without Paradox. I hope i am on the good way...
