Hi there

For those of you still running Paradox I can tell you, that it runs very well on Windows 10. No errors and very fast and stable. No problems with BDE either. Only problem we have is using PDFCreator printing PDF directly in the code. But only in some cases. Need to check my code for this.

No need to change for anything else due to new Windows version. Atleast we will stick to our Paradox solution as long as we can.

Thanks for your fast response. I saw already the article, but now it says at the beginning:
The Windows Help program is not supported in Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 or later versions of Windows Server. The Windows Help program is available for Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1 only.

I tryed the Window 8.1 but it didn't install.

yes, further research in the paradox "community" forums indicates the same thing.. I've seen two message threads that suggest deleting the win10 help exe, and replacing it with an older one.. that worked fine for both members until a win10 upgrade replaced the old file with the newer one, again..

I'd guess that the only workaround to that, is to launch paradox in a batch file that replaces the help .exe each time..

Hi,

Just confirmation if any is needed that yes replacing the winhlp32.exe provided with Windows 10 with an older version does work.

I used an old copy of the file from an XP machine.

It can be a bit of a pain as you have to take ownership of the Windows 10 version first, then give yourself fullcontrol, then rename it, or delete it if you like. Lastly drop your old version in the folder.

Windows updates will unfortunately put it all back where it started so keep a copy of the old file handy for next time.

It's only a couple of minutes work on those machines you need it on so not really the end of the world, it's just annoying that Microsoft are so dogmatic about not providing it when they let us run the software that it's required for.  Instead they went to all the trouble of creating a non working version to replace it with instead, perfect sense to someone I guess.

thanks.. it's stupid, I agree.. maybe you should make a batch file to fire off Paradox, to keep replacing the file.. there will be windows updates constantly, and you never know how many of them will attack your file

Thanks again for the fast research. Now I'm leaving for a trip. As soon as I have more time and if I have news I'll tell you.
