I recently converted another user over to the Paradox 11 Runtime. I now have 10-12 users on the runtime

This particular user is experiencing a strange error.

Any report that is sent directly to a Printer causes the runtime to crash.

Sending the same reports to the screen works,  but then subsequently attempting to print another crash

Using a PDF Printer works without error.

The printers are networked printers,  Paradox V8 on Win 10 had no problem printing to them.

I have one other user with a similar problem,  in that users case, they are running Pdox11 runtime in a Remote Desktop environment,  They get the error if they are sending the job to a REDIRECTED printer.   If they send the job to a printer that is not redirected,  then the progam works correctly.

Any thoughts??

Jeff

Now I have approximately 18 customers installed with the runtime,

3 have printer problems

As suggested,  Printers that dont exist(if any) have been removed.  No help/change

On two of the customers (3rd unavailable to test),  changing the default printer to another fixed the problem. Unfortunately,  my customer does not want to walk down the hall to get a print job when they have a printer on thier desk.

Any other thoughts?

what kind of problems?

I got turned on to a terrific toy this week

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer

if pdox gives a GP, this will show you the folder it hangs on, which will usually tell you exactly what's wrong.. for instance, I had an installation of p11 on win10 that GP'd when it loaded.. run this critter, right click on the pdox exe, and it showed a Dell printer folder that didn't exist..

I'm sure it will help in many other situations, too
