Paradox 10 on Windows 7
I seems to have successfully loaded Paradox 10 (from WPO 2002). However, I am having problems in the data model. 1.) The table lables are not entirely readable 2.) Linking tables is doable, except that te screen gets "smudgy." If I drag the DM window down and back up, the image is clear. Loading the windows help program from MS did not work, but I haven't given this much energy and am not sure that I was doing it properly.

If you're using Paradox 9, make sure to upgrade to SP3 or SP4. There's a similar paradox in regards to Facebook. Start Paradox to make certain it's working correctly. You should try 70-537 dumps Questions and Answers to survive in Microsoft Certifications.

definitely, and alternative approach could explain the root cause.. in the old days, it was "is it the speaker, or the speaker wire?".. still true :-) I use an INI file to control a couple of things that even the runtime users can mess with, so they come back in clean, the next time

hi, Patrick Paradox 7, Paradox 8, and the old Delphi Database Desktop will not run on Windows 10 after last year's Windows 10 Creators Update.. Paradox 9, 10, and 11 are fine, so far the links on my URL Links page point to the original Service Packs for Paradox, by version.. they have not changed

Settings do not save
Is there a way to force the settings (developer preferences, etc) to save.   PDOX 11 on Win 10  & Win 7,  reset everytime PDOX is closed. Clean WIN & machine presents the same issue

who would have guessed that Corel would ever do something that dumb?.. at least by putting the net file in the root of C, you can go into the BDE and find what they did

Multiple users edit same form concurrently in P11?
Hello All, I am very new to Paradox and have a question from an IT support side, rather than the user side. Our business office purchased licenses and installations for Paradox 11 due to a form issue in the previous version of Paradox they were using. This office claims that in their old version of Paradox they could have 2 users edit the same form simultaneously, but then it "quit working." I installed Paradox 11 on a Windows 7 and Windows 10 desktop without issue during the installation. They can open their old forms and tables without issue, but get the error below when opening the same form. Is it possible to adjust a setting or modify the .NET file to allow for simultaenous form edits?

Paradox books by Dan Ehrmann or ??
I want to learn how to expand my basic knowledge of writing queries in Paradox. My company's application operates on Paradox and I want to learn how to really manipulate the data available. I've been told that two books by Dan Ehrmann are good, but out of print. "Paradox Queries--The Basics" and "Paradox Queries--A Developer's Reference". If anyone has a lead on either of these I'd appreciate knowing., , Bob

comparison between Pardox and Access
I've been using Paradox from V4.0 through V9, relying on Mike Prestwood's books to get excellent results. , The pressure is on to convert or adopt to Access for future database/progamming, but I was always under the impression that Paradox was more stable, and overall a better product. If this is true, is there any chart or table available that compares the two, or at least some indication as to Paradox's strong points in relation to Access? This is a bit urgent, Thank you!

after the recent Win10 Creators Update, no.. Paradox 9, 10, and 11 still run fine, and usually with no "upgrade" issues.. just be sure that you get the Professional Edition of any WordPerfect Suite

Windows 10
Hi there For those of you still running Paradox I can tell you, that it runs very well on Windows 10. No errors and very fast and stable. No problems with BDE either. Only problem we have is using PDFCreator printing PDF directly in the code. But only in some cases. Need to check my code for this. No need to change for anything else due to new Windows version. Atleast we will stick to our Paradox solution as long as we can. Peter

Paradox Settings and Prefferences resetting win7
I moved to a Win 7 machine last year and since then, my Paradox 11 install has been resetting it's |Tools|Settings|preferences and DeveloperPreferences to factory defaults periodically. I save the settings the way I like them and then a couple of open/close cycles later, I notice that they have reverted to the factory defaults. It doesn't happen every time I open paradox, but I am guessing since I have multiple projects with different CFG files I am working in on a daily basis that somehow my custom defaults are getting deleted. This is behavior I did not see with Paradox11 on my WinXP machine. Anyone else seen this and come up with a fix? Thanks -SS

Paradox on Windows Server 2012
We migrated from using a run of the mill Windows XP box as a server to Windows Server 2012; one of the applications we use is a simple 3 table database which stopped working the moment the files were being accessed from the new server. We could see data but trying to add anything would result in a Lock Time Out error. I discovered that if I remove Referential Integrity from the detail table structure, and just assign it through the data model on the form, everything works. Would it be OK to leave it like that? or would it be somehow dangerous for the integrity of the data? Could the problem have come from some setting on the server? The person who installed the server for us doesn't think so but I'm not sure he is as familiar with Windows 2012 Server as I thought. For the time being I will be monitoring the data and checking that nothing is lost. Any suggestions? Thanks

Lock on Paradox Link to Spreadsheet
I have Paradox 11 and Corel X6 with Quattro Pro. Within the spreadsheet I have several links to Paradox tables. Something got corrupted and the system crashed, leaving me unable to open the spreadsheet, From another work station I was able to open the spreadsheet files and disable the links, which now allows me to open the spreadsheet. But whenever I try to re-establish the links the spreadsheet locks up. Otherwise, everything works fine. I have reinstalled Quattro Pro, Paradox and BDE but that didn't help. The work station has Win 7/64 and have tried to restore the OS to an earlier point but the restore utility fails. I'm guessing that I will need to get the HD reformatted and reinstall the OS. Before I make that leap, has anyone seen anything similar or have any thoughts on how to make the DB-spreadsheet links work again.

PARADOX 4.5 for DOS on WIN2K
Sadily we are still running a legacy application that requires PDOX45. Honestly I don't mind since I really love this version. Here is the hitch: I upgraded a workstation to WIN 2000 and now I can't get pdox to run. My command line is f:\pdox45\paradox.exe -extk 16000 -net f:\system\pdox45\ Which has worked just fine for all other W95, W98 and WMe machines but under W2K I get the following error message: Can't Start PARADOX: no directory specified for PDOXUSRS.NET, , Any ideas?

access violation error
Any ideas on how to resolve this error when clicking on the table lookup tab in the table info dialogue?  Running Win XP Service Pak 2, and Paradox 11.0.0.411. Access violation at address 00A7F6AC in module 'PXDCRT32.dll'. Read of address 00000000.

Hello, This has mostly to do with fact that Paradox is not completely compatible with Windows 7, and above. When do you run this problem having table on a machine with older version, it will work 99%. Suc6 Adam
