 A flashcard from our ASP Classic Flashcards Library
 A code snippet from our ASP Classic Code Snippets Page

ASP Classic Member Property

ASP classic uses the property keyword and special Get and Let methods to both get and set the values of properties.

Syntax Example:
Class Cyborg
 Private FCyborgName
 Public Property Get CyborgName()
  CyborgName = FCyborgName
 End Property
 Public Property Let CyborgName(pCyborgName)
  FCyborgName = pCyborgName
 End Property
End Class

Complete Example

The following is a complete example of the class above.

<%Option Explicit%>
<head><title>Test Page</title></head>
<h1>Introduce Yourself</h1>
Dim Cameron
Set Cameron = new Cyborg
Cameron.CyborgName = "Cameron"
Class Cyborg
 Private FCyborgName
 Public Property Get CyborgName()
  CyborgName = FCyborgName
 End Property
 Public Property Let CyborgName(pCyborgName)
  FCyborgName = pCyborgName
 End Property
 Public Function IntroduceYourself()
  Response.Write("Hello, my name is " & CyborgName & ", it's nice to meet you!")
 End Function
End Class

What is rule to using the first letter in private variable which is assigned by property .In you example you use the "F" ,because we can't use "_CyborgName".
