2. The Future of Paradox Blog

If you have an existing Paradox system you can keep using it but you'll need to skip the Vista operating system and either stick with Windows XP or move to Windows 7. Because better tools exist, you may very well want to put a plan together now for converting to another development tool or at least understand what the future is likely to hold. If you're a power-user or researcher working with data, stick with Paradox.

Ted Pastuszak
comparison between Pardox and Access
I've been using Paradox from V4.0 through V9, relying on Mike Prestwood's books to get excellent results. , The pressure is on to convert or adopt to Access for future database/progamming, but I was always under the impression that Paradox was more stable, and overall a better product. If this is true, is there any chart or table available that compares the two, or at least some indication as to Paradox's strong points in relation to Access? This is a bit urgent, Thank you!

Win XP - v - Paradox DOS
Mike Prestwood. , , Mike,, , Thanks for replying AND not telling me off for posting a query on the new members board!, , "RUN" is a Paradox DOS command with which an external executable can be called from within Paradox DOS. Run "Start WinWord.Exe DocName.doc", will open DocName in Word . Worked fine in Win95/98, not in WinXP. Tried a batch file, but it will not 'RUN' from within Paradox DOS. , , Any suggestions?, , Thanks.
