Splash screen shows then Pdox dies
We've got an intermittent problem when launching Paradox9. The splash screen will show briefly and then go away completely. Any clue? We haven't installed any of the service packs but are pursuing that angle. We're on a WAN & this has 'infected' some but not all sites & is obviously growing concern. Thanks for any hints., , Solberg.Marvin@pbgc.gov

Expecting a column separator in table header
When I run a sorted report I get "Could not initialize report" followed by "Expecting a column separator in table header". This goes away if I don't sort the detail band. I've rebuilt the underlying table to no effect. , , I've got 7 group bands in the report, so I thought that might be the problem, but it doesn't go away as I remove bands., , Any ideas? Thanks!

Never mind. Turns out that when I shorten the name of the underlying table, the problem goes away. The table name was around 30 characters., , I've been haphazardly messing around with this one for a month off & on. Interesting that the solution pops into my head a minute after I finally got around to posting it here. :)

Re: PAL
I've got an extra copy of the PAL user's guide for Pdox 3.5 that I could part with if you don't already have one.

Re: Help! Trapping Dialog responses!
A related question or perhaps the same: When using view() how do you tell if user clicked "OK" or "Cancel"? For example, , , var , Num number, endvar, Num.view("Enter a number"), , displays a dialog with "OK" and "Cancel" buttons and stores the user's input to the Num variable. How do you tell if the user clicked "Cancel"?

Mail setup
I'm confused about POP3 mail accounts. I've read what they are & how to set one up, but don't understand WHY I'd want to set one up. I have mail at work and an AOL acct at home & my Prestwood account forwards me@mydomain.com to one or the other per my instructions. What does setting up a POP3 account do for me that I don't already have? The only thing I KNOW of that I don't have is the ability to change my outgoing email address on the fly. What I mean is when I send something from either work (outlook) or home (aol), I'd like to be able to SOMETIMES force the return address to be me@mydomain.com instead of me@work.com or me@aol.com. That sounds like a browser issue tho'. Can anyone enlighten me? Thx.

Corel Paradox for Windows on Vista
Does Corel Paradox for Windows run on Vista? If so, are there any issues? What about Windows 7?
