Hi Martin,

When you say "populate," do you mean load it with data from a database?

Also, when you  say "with a lot more functionality," can you be more specific?

While we await your reply, may I suggest some excellent references? 

In "Borland Delphi 6 Developer's Guide," authors Teixeria and Pacheco go into great depth about building Delphi Components. Also check out the many Delphi books by Marco Cantu.  His "Mastering Delphi," and "Delphi Developer's Guides" are very good.  Even titles going back as far as Delphi 4 or 5 remain relevant today, and the nice thing is you can find many of them at ridiculously low prices at Amazon and Half.com.
