sqlserver2005 / Paradox 9.0 connection

sqlserver2005 / Paradox 9.0 connection in Paradox to/from Other Data Sources topic (part of our Corel Paradox / ObjectPAL Coding group).

Quick Search: sqlserver2005   Paradox   connection   sqlserver2005 /   sqlserver2005 / Paradox   9 0

After succesfull connecting to an mssqlserver 2005 through an paradox alias in Idapi.cfg with Driver_type=SQL_SERVER, most fields from the sql server database cannot be shown in paradox forms or be used from within Objectpal.

In paradox forms there is no problem in desgin mode, but when running Paradox forms it gives an unexpected error...

It is like the ODBC driver does not work for the sql server 2005.

Can all the different field types/formats in sql server 2005 not be shown/ used in Paradox 9.0 forms/objectPal or is there any solution to this ?

I'm not an SQL expert, but yes, there are field types and rules in modern SQL products that Paradox and the BDE don't understand.. bear in mind that these products were last updated in 2002, and many core BDE processes are even older than that..

1. BDE SQL Links Not Maintained

I have an application in Delphi 1-7, using BDE. Is there a way that I can upgrade the BDE so the can work with MSSQL 2005 or 2008. They work fine if MSSQL2000 is is used. Am I on a dead end or there is still hope?
