OLE and Arrays?

OLE and Arrays? in Paradox Third Party Software, DLLs, and Controls topic (part of our Corel Paradox / ObjectPAL Coding group).

Quick Search: OLE Arrays
Altamonte Springs, Florida, USA

I'm accessing methods and properties from a .dll thru an OLEAuto Object.  Everything has been working until I called a method that is expected to return an array.

Here's the code:

devNum Array[] SmallInt ;I've tried multiple array types ;DynArray[] AnyType, Array[] SmallInt ; etc.

SIMchg OLEauto

I receive the following error when attempting the GetUSBDeviceList call:

Cannot convert 'Array' to an OLE type.

Any ideas?

Hi Beth,

Sounds like the old typeCasting problem.  Don't know if this will help - but can you use a generic type for the argument?  I'm guessing this is Delphi - and it's been a while - but the argument type has to be some thing generic like "anytype".  You can then re-cast it as an array once you have the return value.
