Mike,

Re your "Implementing a Reusable Progress Bar in Paradox" form for download. I have downloaded it but am unable to open it. Paradox suggests that the form may be corrupt. Can you check please.

Hi John, i downloaded the zip, extracted the file, and opened the form in design mode using Paradox 9. Worked just fine. Are you opening in design mode? Or, a later version of Paradox?

Hi Jay,

I created and use the form found at this link
correction: the link is  https://portman-win.com/ASPSuite/downloads/dlgmsg.zip

(You will need to unzip the file)

there is not much to it, but you are welcome to use it. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have

A snippet of my code that uses the form is below.  (This snippet is used to read a specific file and load it into a table)

Uses ObjectPal
   ;dlgmsg form method signatures
   xSetRangeandStep(min longint,max longint,increment longint)
   xstepit()

EndUses

....

method loadRMBSCMBS(Var MaxDate Date)
var
ts textstream
allLines Array[] String
oneline array[] String
s String

t tcursor
q Query
fm form
recs longint
sz Longint
LastDate Date

endvar

t.Open("RMBSCMBSList.DB")
t.Empty()
t.Edit()

if ts.open(":WORK:_rmbs.txt", "r") then
  ts.readLine(allLines)
  ts.close()
  recs = allLines.Size()

  fm.Open("Dlgmsg.fdl")
  fm.txtMsg = "Loading " + String(recs) + " records from the NAIC RMBS File..."
  fm.xSetRangeandStep(1,recs,1)

for sz from 1 to recs
  s = allLines[sz]
  s.BreakApart(OneLine,",")
  If not (OneLine[1].Substr(1,6) = "CUSIP") then
  t.InsertAfterRecord()
  t.cusip = OneLine[1].Substr(1,6)+"-"+OneLine[1].Substr(7,2)+"-"+OneLine[1].Substr(9,1)
  t.cusipa = OneLine[1]
  t.NAICList = OneLine[2]
  t.NAICComment =OneLine[3]
  t.CommentUpdate =OneLine[4]
    Try
      LastDate = Date(OneLine[4])
      if LastDate > MaxDate then
       MaxDate = LastDate
      endif
    onfail
    endtry
  endif
fm.xstepit()
endfor
fm.close()
endif

t.EndEdit()

endMethod

I surrender,  my link is being changed when the message is saved.

DROP the /ASPSuite path from the link and you should be able to download  the file.
