There is no disk in drive error paradaox 10 win 8.

There is no disk in drive error paradaox 10 win 8. in Paradox Setup, Vista, etc. topic (part of our Corel Paradox / ObjectPAL Coding group).

Quick Search: paradaox   There no   There no disk   drive error   paradaox 10   win 8
-- USA

Paradox is running fine but when i get "There is no  disk in the drive. Please insert disk into drive" mostly when opening forms i click the continue button 2 times and it opens form.  It is random when the error window opens.

Any help would be great.

This error is usually caused by a missing or inaccessible style sheet.  Paradox needs a screen style sheet to open a form in design mode, and a printer style sheet to open a report in design mode.  If it doesn't find a style sheet where it thinks it left one, it starts searching everywhere and cycles frantically through all the drive letters, generating the empty-drive errors.

This is unusual for Paradox, which is mostly very well implemented, but missing style sheets drive it into a panic.  It may reset all the developer preference settings or even crash.

A standard Paradox installation places a library of style sheets in

 C:\Program Files\Borland\Paradox\PDOXHOME\

and sets the style sheet specs to

 C:\Program Files\Borland\Paradox\PDOXHOME\DEFAULT.FT
 C:\Program Files\Borland\Paradox\PDOXHOME\DEFAULT.FP

Paradox also has built-in defaults for the style sheets, called PXTOOLS.FT and PXTOOLS.FP, which are not represented by style sheet files.  If Paradox survives its panic attack and finds no style sheet files, it resets the style sheet specs to these defaults.

The style sheet spec settings are found at

Edit | Preferences | Forms/Reports | Designer style sheets | Screen style sheet:
Edit | Preferences | Forms/Reports | Designer style sheets | Printer style sheet:

The Paradox user community does not know how to fix this problem in every case, but assuring that the style sheet specs point to readable style sheet files often does it.
