Dot matrix printer, printing invoices 8.5 x 11 ... after every invoice I get a formfeed (an empty invoice).. I have ran into this problem before and I believe what I have done is recreate the report and the problem goes away. Anyone know how to fix this in a different and easier manner?
This error only shows it ugly face after an edit to a well running report. Out older epson took a dump and we bought a new oki 320 turbo 9 pin.. so I made some adjustments to the report to compensate to the printers start of form. This basically meant moving things up a bit.
Grouped on order# with a table frame.

ETC .. ETC..

why is the stuff that breaks, always the most annoying to fix? :-)
you made changes for the way the different printer works.. somewhere, it most likely thinks it still has one line too many for a page, or something like that.. if it works when you make it from scratch, they'll look identical, but that "something" isn't in the new one, so it works

Ok.. UPDATE... Page setting for report was STANDARD LETTER 8.5 X 11.. that is the size of the continous forms.. I have increased that size to a 9 x 11 giving me a bit of extra room on the width..PROBLEM SOLVED...
Problem persists.. went to print invoices and another problem popped.. so I appologize.. this was not a fix.

I'm buried in Paradox work, as always.. I just miss the days when there were enough of us, that there was constant discussion

I recently ran into a similar problem with PDOX 10. Essentially any report with enough data for more than 1 page (11x8.5 or 8.5x11) will insert a blank page between data pages. This happens if you report.Print() to the default printer.
If the report is previewed on the screen first, then printed (same printer), PDOX will throw a warning saying "Report layout setting (page size, paper orientation) have been changed in the porint dialog.....Would you liek to continue?) This is the same warning you get if you change printers in the dialog. Anyway, after clicking yes the pages print correctly (no blank pages)
I have been struggling with this issue for weeks with out a solution. I am not sure that I can use the solution above because this application is deployed in several hunderd locations and hence who knows how those printers will respond.
Recently I have been wondering if the reports are based on a stylesheet and it is the stylesheet that is causing the problems. any idea if that is true and if there is a way to edit style sheets?

dialed in remotely, p10 at the other end, I get that messagewhenever I print, cuz I'm printing to my printer.. that makes sense
but also, dialed in remotely, I get the table layout changes message that's like that, sometimes, when I close answer tables that I haven't touched.. that doesn't make sense
yes, you can get or set printer and screen style sheets.. I've never touched them
is it the style sheets? is it windows itself? is it printer or display drivers? all of the above are correct? personally, I think it's the printers more than anything else, but that's just a WAG
the possibilities are endless, the active user base is not
