Hello All,

I am very new to Paradox and have a question from an IT support side, rather than the user side.

Our business office purchased licenses and installations for Paradox 11 due to a form issue in the previous version of Paradox they were using. This office claims that in their old version of Paradox they could have 2 users edit the same form simultaneously, but then it "quit working."

I installed Paradox 11 on a Windows 7 and Windows 10 desktop without issue during the installation. They can open their old forms and tables without issue, but get the error below when opening the same form.

Is it possible to adjust a setting or modify the .NET file to allow for simultaenous form edits?

a plain default install of paradox does not put the network control file on the network.. you need to go to the BDE Administrator and change the location of the "net" file, on every machine.. it must be the same, everywhere, and the shared data location must be the same, everywhere.. once that is done, everyone can share everything, and it will prevent two users from modifying the same record

Thanks Steven.

How do I go about getting the Borland Database Administrator on a new clean install on Windows 10? I didn't get any Borland directories created when I installed Paradox 11. I uninstalled Paradox 11, then installed WordPerfect Office Pro X8, Wordperfect SDK, WordPerfect Office X8 - Extra Content then installed Paradox again how the BDE would also be installed. I still don't have any references to Borland on my local machine.

it should install to Program Files (x86) / Borland / Common, but occasionally it'll be slightly different.. if you go to Start / Search and type in BDE Admin, it should find it
