Hi all -

We have about 10 domain computers running the latest version of Paradox whose working directory is a drive letter mapped to a server share. Each PC/user gets the same driver letter.

We have a shared computer and one of the users gets the "Could not initialize DBE" error. The rest of it reads:

You have attempted to open a database that is in use by someone else, but the database cannot be shared. You must set the location of the .NET control file.

I am guessing this has something to do with the local pc itself and the fact that other users log into it and - to date - no once has run into trouble with Paradox. Also, it is likely that this is the first time Paradox has been used under this particular user profile. It is also a restricted account, like many of the accounts on this computer. I can launch the app fine if I Shift/rt click on the icon and choose to run as another user.

Is there a local file on that pc which needs a look?

Thanks for reading.

many possibilities, but most likely this profile is not accessing the shared files correctly, or the config in the BDE isn't the same
