I am a novice paradox user, but have intermediate VB skills, so I am creating a VB front end and using ODBC to connect to paradox .DB. I want to do this so I can package and deploy the application across the LAN and seamlessly scale if I want to add data/users.

I haven't tried connecting yet, but are paradox database files same as dBase files? I always have used MS SQLserver, so this is new to me. thanks in advance.

Tom:

Yes, Paradox tables are similar to dBASE and Access data files. All three are file based systems. dBASE and Paradox use multiple files while Access stuffs everything into one file. Neither approach is as good as a SQL server, but both have their advantages.
