Mike's Paradox book has an excellent section in the back on using web servers with Object Pal. Is there more info out there that can explain how to use .HTT files in more detail, possibly more examples?

I know this post is old, but I wanted to add a few comments.

1. Thanks for the comments on using the ActiveX web server control in my book. I think it serves it purpose well.

2. For dynamic web sites, I don't recommend using Paradox. There are better tools available like ASP using ADO with ODBC driver that allows you to get to your Paradox data. That's just one example. You can ask questions if this statement bothers you.

3. I would use the ActiveX control under a few cases, sure, it is solid technology.

Also, one of the biggest problems using Paradox on the web is finding a virtual web hosting company that will allow you to install Paradox or the Paradox runtime. I don't know of any so if someone knows of a company doing virtual Paradox web hosting, post here.

That leaves you with using a dedicated server. Nowadays with DSL and Cable Modems, you can get a static IP address, register a domain, and setup Paradox on it to serve up dynamic pages. That works. However, you'll have letency issues with a setup like that and reliability can be an option. Bottom line is setting up your own server is a valid scenario in some situations for small businesses. In general, bigger companies will want a more robust solution.

Ask questions if these statements bother you. Obviously, I'm a huge Paradox fan, but I also believe in using the right tool for the right job. I'm also available for phone consultations if your company needs advice.
