Anybody working with ASP.NET yet? Any initial thoughts?

Here are a couple of FAQs about ASP.NET that I put together from research on the web for those that haven't heard of it.

1. What is ASP.NET?
a. ASP.NET is the next generation of ASP.

2. Why is ASP.NET important?
a. ASP.NET is much more powerfull than ASP and the industry is anticipating a large number of the next wave of web sites will be written using ASP.NET.

3. Is ASP.NET compatibile with ASP?
a. ASP.NET is not backwards compatible with ASP. However you can run both ASP and ASP.NET on the same server.

4. How will Delphi integrate with ASP.NET?
I don't know!!! Anyone else that knows, please reply. I've heard something about the need for a MIDL compiler for Object PASCAL and that it would be fairly difficult to write.

Here is a full description I put together:

ASP+ or ASP.NET is the next generation of Microsoft's Active Server Page (ASP) technology. ASP.NET files have an .ASPX extension instead of an .ASP extension. ASP.NET distinguishes itself from ASP in two major ways: compiled code and content separation. ASP.NET supports code written in compiled languages such as Visual Basic, C++, C#, and Perl. Also, ASP.NET has server controls that can separate the code from the content. This allows WYSIWYG editing of pages. There is a trend from development companies to try and figure out a "good" way for web page layout developers to work with back end "web application" developers. (Borland's Delphi 6 has several features along these lines too.)

I just started using ASP+, and I really like it....it take's a little getting used to because you dont use recordsets (so to speak) and really dont use the response.write command much at all....So far There have been cool things I like about it, like using DataGrid to display your data, and form validators make it a snap to provide error checking on input objects..
