I am developing an application that uses Crystal Reports as the reporting mechanism. But I am having trouble in getting Delphi to pass a parameter to the report. Does nayone have any suggestions? Thanks.

here is some of the sourcecode

procedure TReports.btnRunrpt1Click(Sender: TObject);

var
Server : WideString;
Database : WideString;
DLLName : WideString;
UserID : WideString;
Password : WideString;

begin

//#########################################################

DLLName := 'pdsodbc.dll';
UserID := 'baris';
Password := 'baris9';
Database :='barisdbs@baris';
Server := 'Baris';

Application1.LogOnServer(DLLName, Server, Database, UserID, Password);

//#########################################################

CrReport := Application1.openReport('H:\ALL\Crystal Reports\Population Control\For the Judes Report By Master Number.rpt', 1);

crviewer1.ReportSource := CrReport;
crviewer1.viewreport;
//crviewer1.Refresh;
//CrReport.ParameterFields.Item[1].AddCurrentValue('DBEdit1');
//CrReport.ParameterFields.Item[1].SetCurrentValue('DBEdit1');
crReport.ParameterFields.Item[1].AddCurrentValue('dbedit1');
end;
what i am trying to do is pass a number identifier to the report that is being displayed in the dbedit1 field.

It's all about what you want to do!

Here a exemple ..
With Cr do begin
ParamFields.Retrieve;
ParamFields.ShowDialog := False;
ParamFields[0].value := FTitre;

NBImprimerDteDernierImprimer(FNomTemplate,Fsujet,Ftitre,FCritereSelection);
ParamFields[1].value :=RefSite(IDSite);
ParamFields[2].value := FSujet;
ParamFields[3].value := GMapSecuS.NomNode;

case OutPut of
toWindow : ParamFields[4].value :='' ;
else if FDteDernImprimer='' then
ParamFields[4].value := '.'
else
ParamFields[4].value := 'DerniΦre impression : '+FDteDernImprimer+'('+FHreDernImprimer+')';
end;

{Passage de paramΦtre pour le sommaire des requetes operatoire}
ParamFields[5].Value := DteDeb;
ParamFields[6].Value := DteFin;

ParamFields[7].AsNumber := GCPhaseListePOS;
ParamFields[8].Value := StatutListe;
ParamFields[9].AsNumber := IdSite;

It is always possible to create a fonction to find the parameters number by name.

This way, you give the value for the report to work.

Your way was to modify the parameters in the report. Roll Eyes
