Paradox 9 shipped with it's Paradox ODBC driver. That driver works with all the Paradox table structures include Paradox 4 and 7 structures. Microsoft and others also have developed Paradox ODBC drivers but to the best of my knowledge, ONLY the one that shipped with Paradox 9 supports the latest Paradox 7 table structure (that's the same table structure use in Paradox for Windows versions 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and the current 13.

However, when you create a new table, the BDE has a default table structure setting and that setting is set to to Paradox 4 table structures initialy. If you use a paradox 7 table structure feature, then it will automatically upgrade the table structure to the Paradox 7 table structure.

For those lurking...

If you don't have Paradox 9 Developer's Edition, you can get the ODBC driver that ships with it from DataDirect Technologies.

Mike,

I have the Developer's Edition. I cannot figure out how to install the ODBC driver, though. Can you help?

I have developed Paradox applications since version 1.0. It was simple and extremely powerful. Too bad MS won the marketing war.
