I want a book like Mike's Paradox 9 programming book but in Delphi. That is, a book with plenty of how to do this or that.

Do the books you mentioned earlier have that or could you recommend another one?

Thanks.

I would start with "Essential Pascal" and "Essential Delphi" at
Old UBB Archived Link: http://www.marcocantu.com/
and the tutorials and links at

Having read through a few of his books, I can confidently recommend anything by Marco Cantu. The man certainly knows his stuff and his books are full of "how to" examples. In fact many of his books come with a companion CD. Try to link up the version of Delphi you are using to his corresponding book and you should be upto speed in no time.

Greetings, snowsurfer. I used to do Delphi work in Roseville! Small world.

In addition to Rick's suggestions, Marco Cantu has also released Mastering Delphi 6, a very easy to read book. We've been using it all year as a Delphi 6 tutorial and reference.

Another good series of books is the Teixeira/Pacheco series, and their Delphi 6 Programmer's Guide was just recently released. The Delphi Programmer's Guides have always received high marks from Delphi developers.
