"TableName: Field index out of range"

Thats enough of that. Ed.

Actually there is no code as such that I can offer as the message is produced by simply making a table active within the Object Explorer. Which means that it could be caused by any one of a number of things.

I just wish the message would point me in a more specific direction to correct whatever it is that is causing the problem.

Thats enough of that. Ed.

It turned out it was actually trying to access a field that had been deleted from the table, I guess this error message can be used to cover a number of situations hence it's apparent vagueness!
Thanks anyway.

Thats enough of that. Ed.

rt, maybe you can post a few lines of the code that triggers the error.

Are you using any (possibly buggy) third party components?

If I recall correctly, this happens when you reference a dataset with an invalid field index or invalid field name:

qrySomething.Field[15].Value where there is no field 15

qrySomething.FieldByName('somename').Value where 'somename' is not a valid field name.
