Query help (again)
I have 2 tables, one (tblLOCProfile) is a list of locations, start day, and end day (LOCATION, StartDay, EndDay).  The other table (tblDailyData) consists of a list of locations and a temperature reading for each day of the year (LOCATION, DayofYear, TEMPERATURE). What I want to do is get an average of TEMPERATURE for each location based of the Day of Year range (StartDay, EndDay) from the first table.  THe kicker is the StartDay and EndDay may be different for each location. Any ideas of how to go about constructing such a query? Thanks,

upgrading Access97 DB to Access 2007.

I have a database that I wrote about 8 years ago in Access 97. I need to upgrade it to Access 2007. I know parts of the VBA code I wrote do not work. I need a frame of reference to begin to rewrite whatever parts of the code that are incompatible, but I don't even know where to begin. I assume some functions and stuff changed over 10 years.

What I was hoping was someone could give me a starting point - a resource of "how to upgrade" or "here's all the functions that changed", etc. Can someone get me started? TIA

Show table box in query
I am almost sure that I saw the answer to this on one of the message boards or in the archive but I cannot find it. So, if someone could help me solve this problem, I would appreciate it., , In Access 2003, in the query function, and then when you request "show tables", is there anyway to make the box that contains the listing of the tables larger?, , All the names of the tables begin with the same "Active Clients 2004 at CCHC with . . . " but the box will not let me see past the "with" . . . , , I hope I've explained this well enough and if anyone has a solution so I can see the whole name of the table, I would appreciate it., , Thanks, kc

How to have a form behave as modal without it bein
The scenario:, , 1. Form A does some processing and queries, 2. Form A opens Form B, 3. Form B provides the facility for the user to revise data that is also processed in Form A, plus print reports, etc., 4. The user closes Form B, 5. Form A does some other processing including queries to update the underlying data, 6. Form A requeries itself., 7. Form A maximizes, , Unfortunately, if I open Form B as a nonmodal Form, then steps five, six and seven continue processing while the focus is on Form B, , If I open Form B as a modal Form (DoCmd.OpenForm "Form B", acNormal, , , , acDialog ), then I cannot do some of the processing instep three, for example, running queries, printing, etc.., , Is there a way of one Form opening another Form and waiting for its return without making the second Form modal. (In Paradox for Windows, there is a Wait statement), , Or do I have to do steps 5, 6 and 7 in Form B before it closes (a bit messy I think), , Thanks in advance, Larry

Wrapping columns in subreports
Hi,, I have a report containing sub reports. One of the sub reports contains just two fields but I want the output to extend across the page to match the layout of the other sub reports (which have more fields) for tidiness. Is there any way to "wrap" the output in this sub report so I get four columns in it using just those two fields, withoug repeating the data - eg, ID Name ID Name, , Any ideas?, , Many thanks,, , Pauline :)

fields on form applying to a document
I have a form with the same values of the Word document. Can I make the fields of the form fill in the blanks of the Word document? This way, I'd like to have a print command on the bottom of the form and when that happens, it would be nice for it to launch the already made Word document, fill in the blanks, and then print the document. Is this possible? If so, how? Confused

Half Sheet
High Kudos to whoever can figure this one out..., , I'm printing out a form that fits in a half sheet of paper's area. I need to be able to fit this form in4 an 8.5 x 5.5 area, but when I look at the paper sizes, only your average default sizes are available (letter, legal, and various envelope sizes). I see that in Word you're able to specify what size of page you want, but can this carry over to Access? Can you make a document template in word and have that be accepted as a paper size?, , Thanks in advance...this is all that stands between me and letting the boss play with the database proper!

Printing a report w/ using only the current record
Hi and hello..., , I'm in the process of making a database to handle service calls. Currently my setup is such that after the user fills in the form he prints off the current record which goes down to the printer in the shop for their perusal. , I'd like the ability to, after the user enters the data into the form, create a *report* with that form's info that could then be shipped to the printer. Currently I've got a macro created that will print the *most recently completed* form, but returns a blank report when I try to print a form that I've finished but haven't advanced to the next record yet. Any ideas on how I need to reword the macro would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Trapping Access Error 3200
I have another post that is related to this one. In my claim form, if I change the key and then tab until I would normally go to the next record, I get error 3200. What I would like to do is trap it. So, I tried putting in the OnCurrent event this code, , on Error Goto err_try, err_try:, if err.number=3200 then, msgbox "blah blah blah", sendkeys "{esc}" to put form back the way it was, end if, , However, I continue to get error 3200 instead of my message box. Have i tried the wrong event? I also tried before and after update and lostfocus. Help!!

HELP! How to get Close Form Button to recognize re
I have a form where a user can either enter a new claim type or change an existing claim type. If they change the claim type code which is the key and there are related records in another table, they currently only get the standard error message "The record can not be deleted or changed..." when they tab to a new record. I also have a close form button on this form and I need for that button to have a similar error message attached to it so that if they make a change and then hit that button they are informed that their change is not going to go into effect. We do not want to allow cascade updates so they just need to see a message letting them know they need to change it back. Can anyone help?

Access graphs & NT
We appear to have a problem with Access 97 graphs in NT4., One of our databases produces graphs in reports. The graphs work fine in Access 97 on Windows 98, and Access 2000 in Windows NT4., However, when producing the same report in Access 97 in Windows NT4, the reports either contain truncated graph elements, or no plotted data at all., , Because this database is used by a few different companies, we need it to work in these various combinations., , Can anyone suggest a reason for this happening?, Thanks.

Use Requery problems
I created a Form that has a sub-form. I then created another sub-form based on the first sub-form. In order to make the second sub-form update when selecting a record on the first sub-form I used a requery in the current event of the first sub-form. This does the trick. My problem is that once someone does 3-4 "Find"s on the main form the form freaks out and sometimes crashes Access. Does anyone know what is causing this to happen and how can I fix the problem?, , Thanks for the help in advance., , James R. Tracking logons to a database / security
I guess the quickest way to the problem is to give the scenario., , I have created a small ACCESS app to track confidential data about clients., , I need to be able to do 2 things:, , 1. I need to limit who has access to this program (i.e. via a logon name and password verification) and , , 2. I need to track who had access and when the person had access (i.e. date and time)., , Only one user on the network will have access to the app at one time., , I could do this in Paradox but I am not able to do this in ACCESS. I have tried a couple of "things" (i.e. with forms / look ups, etc.) with no luck., , Anyone have a suggestion?, , Thanks, KC

SQL Distinct Problem
We are in the process of upsizing our Access 2000 interface and database to SQL server., Our interface involves a fairly complex query which contains 33 tables., To use SQL server, we need to change the DISTINCTROWS clause in the query to DISTINCT, and a reference to 'False' to '0'., The query itself now runs fine in SQL server, but cannot be run from our mdb, returning an error of 'Query too complex'. Initial investigation seemed to point the finger at a 16 table limitation of ODBC V2, but having used the same syntax in an Access-Only environment, the same error is returned. This seems to suggest that the fault does not lie with ODBC, but with the syntax instead., Has anyone had any problems with the DISTINCT clause in an Access/SQL environment?, , Thanks,, Paul
