trouble using SendDLG() on 2016 RDS svr W/ Outlook
I am starting up a new 2016 RDS server to replace a 2008 R2 Terminal server running a Paradox 11 App. I am having trouble using the M.SendDLG() command, which runs fine on The 2008R2 server. I get a windows error about the default email client and to open Outlook and set it as default I have opened outlook and set it as default I have also set it in control panel default programs and through settings default programs Both servers are running Outlook, the 2016 server where the problem is occuring is running Outlook 2019. There is also a Paradox errormessage that simply says "Main".  I think thats the errorShow for the M.SendDLG() Anyone else run into this?

we've already switched to an alternative like this, for one process that needs html, as an attachment, with a submit button, in a big batch to our vendors.. everything that email security hates, in one process :-) the only conceptual problem with the alternative, but it didn't matter in this particular situation, is that the alternative can't stuff the "sent" box

DLL problem Importing XLS in Paradox 11 RT
I am running into a DLL problem (I think) when trying to import an old .XLS format spread sheet The same code (importSpreadsheet()) imports the same spreadsheet in my developer pdxwin32.exe But when I go to run it in the production machine in runtime PdxRwn32.exe, I get an error At first, I got an error about a missing DLL (PFit110EN.dll)  I tracted down the DLL in the Programfiles\Paradox\Programs of my developer machine and put it into Programfiles\runtime\Programs\ of the production machine Now I am getting an error about unable to read headers when I use an importSpreadsheet()  I also tracked down a PFit110.DLL that had a newer date (3/7/2003 vs 2/25/2003) and tried that on the production machine, but it didn't help. Has anyone else run into this and found a solution?

hadn't heard of that one before, that I can recall.. did you try a re-install of runtime, just to be sure? you can check the bug list, too http://hem.bredband.net/bertilisberg/

How to get all files on a drive
I am sure that at one time I had a script or form that would give me a listing of all the files in a directory, including subdirectories. (Perhaps it was just on my todo list.) It would, of course, have involved enumFileList and recursive routines. I would appreciate if anyone might point me to such a utility. I am not finding what I need otherwise out on the internet. Thanks, NK

The enum can loop down through the system. I use shellExecute and do a dir > list.txt. geometry dash full game

OPAL to DISPLAY QB Tool
hello,   This must be an oversight(or Alzhiemers) on my part. How do I open a query using ObjectPAL  and display it in the query editor so that I can modify? For a table I do the following var,    t string, endvar t = editTableList ; (THIS IS A NAME FROM LIST OF TABLE NAMES) dlgRestructure (t)

Thanks Jay,  but you misunderstood the question.  I dont need the text,  I need the designer to open and display for a query that was pre-designed and saved. In OPAL, var Q Query endvar q.readfromfile("c:\\temp\\somequery.qbe") ; now, i want q.displaydesigner() or q.restructure(), or menuaction.newquery(q) or any other of things I haven't found thanks, Jeff

formatted memo question
I have a form field which I would like to use to modify a formatted memo table field without giving the user direct access to the underlying table.  I can get the table field to display in the form field, but when I try to update it the formatting doesn't seem to work.  (tab and enter keys take me out of the form field).  I have tried both undefined and defined field creation and the only difference is that I have to press F9 when entering text into the defined field version.  How do I enter formatted text into this field?

OK.  The Shift F2 makes it work like I thought it should.  I'm sure that that is somewhere in the reference manual and I've been glossing over it.  I'll need to include a text reminder on the screen above the field in order to have the users update the field properly, :-)  but that's no biggie.  Thanks for the help.

ObjectPal msgQuestion
I have not done any script writing for many years and my memory isn't what it used to be. In one of my scripts I have a msgQuestion that brings up a dialogue box. The default answer in the box is "Yes". Can I change it to "No" because that is the prevailing answer. Rarely do I need to select "Yes"

Why don;t you just change the text of the msgQuestion so that the defaulty answer is Yes ???

HI folks, I have the following code with a form;             exportASCIIVar(":RSA:Mailing Emails.db",":RSA:Reports\\Temporary Mail List.csv", "\t","\"",False,True), ,             MsgInfo("Well Done","The E Mail List for "+s+" has been updated.") s = ":RSA:Reports\\Temporary Mail List.csv" exportASCIIVar(":RSA:Mailing Emails.db",s, "\t","\"",False,True) if that's not what you meant, you'll have to explain differently

Thank you, Steven, that's awesome.  Of course I feel stupid that the capability is built in to the language itself and I didn't find it.  I was looking for it in the ui, but alas, it was burried in the 1000+ pages of paper manuals I got (and still have) w/ Borland Paradox For Windows in '93.  Ah those were the days ;-)

something to avoid? nothing that we know of.. computers aren't perfect.. stuff happens copy/paste? yes, that's what I've done.. I had to re-create a very complex form last year, for a client.. one piece at a time, test it, move on.. never found a specific piece that would fail.. eventually, it was all done, and I could finally make changes that they'd needed for several years

ObjectPAL version incompatable...?
Howdy, I run Paradox 9, under Win 10. I made a minor edit to a particular report. Let's call it Report1. Typically, I print that report using code that is on the doubleclick of a field on an MRO on a form called Form1. Now, when I launch Form1, and doubleclick on the appropriate field in the MRO, I get the error: "The objectPAL version used in this form is incompatible with this version of Paradox. You must recompile from source." So, I opened the form in Edit mode, viewed the code on the field's doubleclick, saved it, and delivered it. Next, I did just that for Report1. I relaunched Paradox, and also rebooted the system, but still get the error. In addition, I can launch the report, and can print it manually, with no problem. How can I correct this error when trying to use the code to do the printing from Form1? Sincere thanks, Lothar

Hi Steven, I thank you for your suggestion and did try it. While experimenting, I stepped through the code, and found something odd, that allowed me to tweak it. With that, all worked well. So though I had success, I confounded the experiment, and I don't know which of the tweaks corrected things. In any case, as before, sincere thanks, Lothar

Debugger NOT Debuggin' (It's Blank...)

Hello,

I just entered a breakpoint in some code I have, but then, when I ran the code, the Debugger dialog launched, but it did not populate. It is completely blank.

I have no idea how to proceed (but I do have a large mallet at the ready.)

Thanks for any suggestions,

Lothar

Getting a buttons labeltext
I'd like to use a button's label in the code in the pushbutton event. Prerably I'd like not to name the button because I have a lot of these buttons that need the same treatment. I tried msgInfo("", this.labeltext) to try to get the right syntax to obtain that info but I didn't get anywhere. Tis is possible, right?

How to evaluate/construct variables?
I need to be able to loop through a set of variables, say F1 through F3 using a for loop. To be able to do this I need something like this: f1 = "hello" f2 = "hi" f3 = "Goodbye!" for i from 1 to 3     msgInfo( "",  m.( "f" + string(i) ) ) endFor Where the variable name is constructed from its parts. The syntax for the evaluation here is wrong. What's the correct way? Pete

Search multiple Scripts
Howdy, Is there a way to search for something (a variable name, for example) across multiple scripts (and each section of those scripts, like run, var, proc, etc.)? In the ideal world, I'd like the output to be something like:    script1.ssl   proc   1732   the line of code with the search phrase I suppose I might have to write my own script to do it - but was hoping for something easier. (My big project has code split across several scripts because of the size limitations built-in to Paradox.) Thanks, David

Code to delete record's last character
Hello, This would seem pretty simple, but... I have some code that generates a CSV file that I then export to my phone. I need to tweak the code so that it looks at the last character of each record, and then deletes that character if it is a comma. Might you point me in the right direction to do that? I'm stumped. Field text displays in REVERSE?
Howdy, I have a multipage form that has a significant amount of code on it. One of its fields has started to display its newly entered text in reverse order of the keystrokes. So if I type KEYSTROKES immediately after entering Edit mode what appears in the field is SEKORTSYEK. If I enter Edit mode, and pause for a few seconds before typing, all is well. I have no understanding about how to diagnose and correct this problem, so would welcome any help. All the best, Lothar
