pushButton to route to website
Allen Troxell has helped me big style with a program near completion, users are able to use a pushButton to query their results and send them to me on email. Ultimately I would like to do this to a website (as yet not set up ). Before completion, what would be necesary for me to cover eventualities. ? can I set up a pushButton in the same way I did for Email ? I know nothing about web matters,, Paul Castelow, New Zealand. :)

Corel Web Server Limitations
Hi, I am a Paradox developer from way back (1985 in fact) and have never really touched on the Web Server OCX much. I am wondering if anyone is using this program to any great effect and what if any problems you see with it. Pardon my ignorance here but does the activex server cope with XML, CSS and XForms? I am particularly concerned about security of using the server -i.e. can it be locked down tightly enough for real-world apps?

Can't find jPdox Web Utilities (.pdf)...
Howdy, y'all; finally acquired a copy of Mike's P9PP. Gonna reverse engineer a Pdox4 database, at least a few new kludged features by using the Web server OCX and a few HTML forms. Currently reading ch. 25 wherein Mike recommends reading "jPdox Web Utilities," a PDF doc that's included in the Reference Center. However, can't find it anywhere on my CD. I'd be obliged if someone would send it by e-mail to jazzbaritone@yahoo.com so that I too can whip up browser-enabled Pdox apps. Thanks kindly, and happy holidays. APJ Laguna Niguel, CA.

I think I found what you were looking at. In the group board version of the summary, the "label only" at the top of the last column next to the Last Active thread said "Thread Starter' instead of "Last Post By". I changed the label to "Last Post By". If you see anything else, let me know.

Using Corel Web Server
Mike's Paradox book has an excellent section in the back on using web servers with Object Pal. Is there more info out there that can explain how to use .HTT files in more detail, possibly more examples?

Form on a web sigte
Can a form, that has been programmed and built using your strings of programming, be published to a web site (for customers with a card number similar to that of a credit car) for use when a cardholder enters a web site wanting to know how many points they have accumulated through purchases made at participating merchant locations???, , We have a company which manages data on cardholders for participating merchants. We currently have cardholders call an 800 number to get point balances and order gifts much like the old Gold Stamp/Blue Chip program except all data is done electronically and catalog is published on the web site for their use., I have asked for bids from programmer but the fee is astronomical. If a form can be built out of Paradox I can do it and publish it to the web and update the two files that would be tied to that form for the querying of their card number at will., , What is the possibility or am I totally off base to think it can be done that simply?, , Sandi

Paradox Web Server
My understanding is that Paradox 9 has a webserver built into it. It is a form called server.fsl or something. Here is my question: We only have paradox 10, if I could get my hands on the files in the :wssample: directory ( or whatever it is) Could I run those in Pdox 10? Would it work?, , Thanks Jeremy

New to database web design
I know this is strange, but i am new to putting databases to the web. I have a two part question. How can I get Data from my web form to my paradox database and vice versa. Can I use a paradox script to access this info. If so how., , Sorry for being a newbie. I have been programming desktop database applications for ten years and this is the first time one of my clients has asked me to put his database onto the web., , thanks, Doug Confused warmage38@shaw.ca

My memory tells me that the Corel Web Server, Paradox 7 ODBC driver, the JDBC driver, JRun, Delphi add-on kit, etc. ONLY came with the developer edition. That stuff along with my Paradox 9 Power Programming book were the reasons to spend the extra money for the developer edition. Cool

Paradox 9 into PDF format
I have created a form from a basic query, which shows the amount of stock we hold in place against a number of different products.I need to email my customer this form in such a way that he can fill in call off quantities and email it back to me. Problem is, he doesn't have Paradox, so I have printed this Paradox form as a PDF then added PDF boxes to it. It's very long winded. Is there any way to send my Paradox form so that all the features of the form function outside of the Paradox environment?

Send mail with html
I'm having problems with the setMessageType while sending emails., , I have been using email notification for a while but now want to send emails which include html, (not an attachment). I believe that setMessageType(...) is the command I should use but I can't find any additional documentation on the structure I should use ipm.urgent is all the manual says., , The email system used is Mercury Mail 1.48., , Thanks for your help in advance.

Thanks for replying,, , The system sends the mail ok, but the delivered message shows all of the html code, this is with m.send()., Using m.sendDlg(), opening the mail dialog works properly showing the html and correctly sets the message type to highest., , I think I may use a perl smtp script as this will work properly., , Thank you for your assistance.

Every programmer you talk to will have a different opinion as to which language and tool you should use to do this task. ASP and PHP are easy to learn scripting languages. You'll have to use a Paradox ODBC driver to access your Paradox data. Also, you'll have to secure your server properly through a firewall so only the data you wish to surface on the web is accessible.

Migrating to Windows Server2008
Been using paradox ocx as web server for over 10 yrs on server with windows server 2003(?).  Recently purchased new server.  Have Windows Server 2008 on it.  Migrated entire data and web info from old to new.  Cleaned up and tested all web pages on new server using localhost.  localhost:8081 hits paradox ocx and creates web pages perfectly. Now trying to webname:8081 to hit paradox and not working.  Probably bad description, I'm no good on the server side. Any ideas.  Why does local host see the 8081 port in the ocx but not the webname:8081? Help

You cannot 'upload' files to Paradox/ocx., , You need a separate 'utility'. I use a perl script; any request to upload a file is sent to that perl script.
