Bill.H2 | PdxRegCl.EXEI have used posts to this board in the past to resolve this issue, but recently installed WPOX5 on Windows7 machine and tricks that worked in the past on Windows XP do not appear to work in Windows7. I have cleared all of the registry entries of PdxRegCl and have disabled the Registry Cleaner in the start up of msConfig, but next time I start Paradox, Windows recongifures it and all of the registry entires reappear and the RegistryCleaner is back in the startUp. I cannot retain the working directory that was set in the last session and all of the established ALIASES are lost. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Jennifer.H2 | Paradox 10 and Windows 7 64-bit networkedWe've got about 15 client machines and have to start upgrading XP to Windows 7 64 bit. I've been working on Windows 7 32 bit without trouble (except the crash whenever I try to close without saving a new script). Has anyone successfully made this work? Did it work out of the box or did you have to you have to use XP mode?

Jeff Wampler | Paradox on Windows 10 Locking UpI have a customer that insists on continuing to use Paradox. We have the files stored on a file server that has a share that is mapped to all users workstations as a drive. It has been working fine for years. Recently, we migrated the server to from 2008 R2 to 2016. We now have users complaining about the application locking up especially if inactive for a while. I'm wondering if anyone has an ideas to prevent this from happening?
Thanks,
Jeff

First, my properties toolbar will not display when using the QBE editor? All other toolbars are working. PdxRegCleaner is turned off(deleted). Tried the display, reset, etc options on the toolbar dialog with no luck
Second, The following code used to work, but no longer does.
if tb.create("Report Options") then, tb.addButton(ToolbarFileCluster, ToolbarButtonPush, MenuControlClose,BitmapCancel, "Close")
tb.addButton(ToolbarModeCluster, ToolbarButtonPush,MenuFilePrint , BitmapPrint, "Print"), tb.addButton(ToolbarModeCluster, ToolbarButtonPush,MenuFilePrinterSetup, BitmapViewSource, "Print Setup")
tb.addButton(ToolbarVCRCluster, ToolbarButtonPush,MenuReportPageFirst, BitmapFirstPage, "First"), tb.addButton(ToolbarVCRCluster, ToolbarButtonPush,MenuReportPagePrevious, BitmapPrevPage, "Previous")

Andy.A | Working dierctory problemHi All. I have a very strange occurence happening with Paradox 9. The working directory is all set correctly and tables working spot on. If I look at table view all data correct and up to date but when I look at the tables in the folder via windows explorer they ar over 5 years old ?? I can table view, re structure and save as and this would work but i cant see where paradox is getting this other information from. Could this be a registry error or windows problem?
Thanks in anticipation...
Andy

JLV | Windows 10 and Paradox 9We are currently running Paradox 9 on four PC's with Windows 7 Pro OS without issue. Because Windows 7 will no longer be supported after Jan 2020; I'm going to give Windows 10 Pro a try on a single client machine on our small network (starting from scratch with an empth HD). I first need to decide on which Windows 10 Pro version to purchase (i.e. 32-bit or 64-bit). Also; any information / advise to help in this process would be much appreciated.

rum | Private PathDoes anyone know if
DURING the install of Paradox (v11), whether any paths are saved in some hidden/buried config file?
This is the issue. I have a user (Win 10, PDOX 11) whose software is not acting normally. while instigating I decided to run table repair. However, when table repair launches it throws an error regarding the ERRORS.DB table in the blahblah\pdxpriv folder. Only the path it is barfing up is not the the private folder that is set/configured in paradox. Wondering where it is finding this erroneous path.
Thanks
jeff
1 Reply: | Steven.G | depending on how you install and how you configure the bde, there can be any number of entries in the registry.. with p11, there are also the potential conflicts of not clearing that stupid reg cleaner thing from the machine and the registry.. what you see is NOT always what you get

Not all workstations have been upgraded but now they all receive the following error message when attempting to login to Paradox... An error was triggered in the 'qlocate' method on an object of TCursor type....TCursor not opened. Our server is Windows 2012
Any help is appreciated.

that way, they're all pointing to one file.. if you change anything, you only change it once
in THAT file, make sure it says the net file is in that same folder, too

the first two, the "bars" configs, are for the toolbars.. yes, if they get hosed, they can be deleted

gcorvera | Paradox on Windows Server 2012We migrated from using a run of the mill Windows XP box as a server to Windows Server 2012; one of the applications we use is a simple 3 table database which stopped working the moment the files were being accessed from the new server. We could see data but trying to add anything would result in a Lock Time Out error.
I discovered that if I remove Referential Integrity from the detail table structure, and just assign it through the data model on the form, everything works.
Would it be OK to leave it like that? or would it be somehow dangerous for the integrity of the data?
Could the problem have come from some setting on the server? The person who installed the server for us doesn't think so but I'm not sure he is as familiar with Windows 2012 Server as I thought.
For the time being I will be monitoring the data and checking that nothing is lost.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

PS_1397 | Paradox 7Hi and thanks for any support, Have a databas on Paradox 7 . The original designer has passed. After any help at all on ammending 2 values withoin the database . Have upgraded from XP through Vista and then 7 (32 bit) and programme still works. How do i ammend a value eg the VAT is at 20%(say change to 21% as a test)If we use design viewer to open up VAT calc 17.5% is shown (which is obviously a default value) you can put in a new value and it evens prompts the change but nothing changes in effect. Please please please not an sql expert but windows knowledge above average . Tried using Paradox editior no good. Apparently the original designer used tools and did about 4 steps to effect the change . Any advice appreciated.2nd question should we upgrade to Paradox 9 or 10. ? to make life easier in the future
5 replies. Last post: | Steven.G | the upgrade to 9/10/11 is essentially cosmetic.. there's something in 7/8 that doesn't work in Win10, but nobody has determined the nature/scope of it
as for your app, it often takes 10 to 20 hours to analyze and assess the workings of an unknown app, and recommend a path forward
there's never just one problem with a 20 year old app :-)

csgPdx | Paradox 10 on Windows 7I seems to have successfully loaded Paradox 10 (from WPO 2002). However, I am having problems in the data model.
1.) The table lables are not entirely readable
2.) Linking tables is doable, except that te screen gets "smudgy." If I drag the DM window down and back up, the image is clear.
Loading the windows help program from MS did not work, but I haven't given this much energy and am not sure that I was doing it properly.
1 Reply: | john.s13 | If you're using Paradox 9, make sure to upgrade to SP3 or SP4. There's a similar paradox in regards to Facebook. Start Paradox to make certain it's working correctly. You should try 70-537 dumps Questions and Answers to survive in Microsoft Certifications.

i set to open paradox as administrator still same problem

What do i need to do to fix...

I use an INI file to control a couple of things that even the runtime users can mess with, so they come back in clean, the next time
