I'm new here
Hello everyone. This is the first forum I have ever joined. I'm an accounting/finance type who started doing a lot of programming in Microsoft Access. People call me an expert, but my definition of an expert is anyone who knows a little more than you do., , Originally I wrote applications for myself, so I didn't have to worry about the user-friendliness. I would write queries to extract the information I needed at the time. However, I am now writing Access Applications for other departments and have to make them very user-friendly. Everything has to be automatic, therefore, i must utilize macros, etc and create user friendly forms. That is where my problems begin and I hope I can find solutions within this group., , I'll offer any help I can, but don't expect much of me at first., , Be talking to you., , Jocat

I'm close to Birmingham in a small sleepy village called Wombourne. We are a telemarketing comapny that use Paradox for everything - front end systems, databases etc. We use primarily Paradox 9, but we have some legacy systems written in Paradox 5, which we are in the process of re-writing/improving, so we can have them network based. Feel free to mail me direct.

Hello Prestwood Board Users!
Hi Everyone,, , My name is Karen, and I have been working with computers since, well, I remember punch cards, now isn't that scary. Why, I was taking a computer class in California in databases, and it was the FIRST database class given, and well, they never got it working so that we could actually try it, so it was just a theoretical from the book class., , We used to write "programs" in Q&A - anyone out there remember Q&A, and dBase, and FoxPro, and Paradox. I'm sure there were others, but I'm just highlighting some things for background sake., , I look forward to reading your posts to learn what you all are doing these days., , We still write Paradox stand alones and debate regularly whether to stick with Paradox or move on. We are currently moving into the web arena and enjoying it., , That's all about me for now. Nice to meet you all.

TAPI (telephonyAPI)
Hi, greetings from England. Mike Prestwoods Paradox book is my programming bible. I have developed an app to run our charity. I took Mikes example to use tapirequestmakecall() which works great in my paradox app. What I would like to do now is to have an incoming callers ID displayed using TAPI I suppose. We have the service enabled with our phone supplier. Have you any example code??, Regards, Len Carne

Hi All, I have been here before when I was just being introduced to VB. I did not like it then but now find out that I have to use it. I have since been exposed to C++ and HTML. I will be seeking help soon to get back into the swing of things.

Hello Everybody
Hi there, I'm Kefkolo (aka Kirk), A friend sent me the link here after I told him my goal of learning Asp.net and C# by the end of the year. I'm sort of new to programming. I took Assembler and Cobol in school back in the dark ages. I know HTML, CSS and a scripting language from Macro Express. But that's about it. I hail from a suburb of Dallas, Tx. Married with three kids and 4 grandkids. One of my sons is a programmer. I just want to say to all you skilled programmers I really appreciate your helping us newbies. And to all the newbies, I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I'm planning to. P.S. Mike, I'll try and get my picture posted as soon as I get one of myself on the computer. :-)

Hi everybody, When I was searching a job portal, one recruiter posted their comment in Required Skills as  "API Documentation" and "XML Documentation". Someone pls tell me what are API Documentation and XML Documentation, and the differences between those two. Examples will be helpful to understand, if any. Thanks in advance.  Regards, Ashok

Hello! I am a Delphi user.
I joined this forum in hoping that there are still knowledgeable people who know Delphi version 2 (and higher). I just posted an issue on Delphi notes/other and desperately need a solution to this. Also, if I can answer any programming or any other issues, I'ld be happy to help.
