Paradox Settings and Prefferences resetting win7
I moved to a Win 7 machine last year and since then, my Paradox 11 install has been resetting it's |Tools|Settings|preferences and DeveloperPreferences to factory defaults periodically. I save the settings the way I like them and then a couple of open/close cycles later, I notice that they have reverted to the factory defaults. It doesn't happen every time I open paradox, but I am guessing since I have multiple projects with different CFG files I am working in on a daily basis that somehow my custom defaults are getting deleted. This is behavior I did not see with Paradox11 on my WinXP machine. Anyone else seen this and come up with a fix? Thanks -SS

Blob Binary Large Object Error
I have been having a tough time with BLOB (Binary Large Object) errors in memo fields of some large tables running on a Win2008 R2 Terminal server with just 3 users.  Any one else have experience with this? This is an app that has been running with support and modification for 25 years. It has been running on this server for close to 8 years. It is only accessed via a terminal server session, all activity in paradox is native to the server. I have had the tables get corrupted 7 or 8 times in the last three weeks.  I have seen this probably 3 or four times before in the last 8 years, but a rebuild of the tables has resolved it.  In the last three weeks, I have not been able to go more than a couple of days without corruption. I'll post more detail later, I wanted to get this up to see if others have experience with blob errors and figure out if this is the right Prestwood board to post it on as opposed to something specific to coding or tables. Thanks

RE: Accessing an FTP with filesyst
I have never checked out Delphi, but I probably should. That's Objectpal based right? I can do everything in Objectpal except the admin issue. I have a hack for it, but it requires user action. And, well, it's a hack..... Let`s just say inelegant.

RE: Table Structure export
I don't have a canned process for you, but you can do a fs.enumfilelist to get an array filled with table names, then enumfieldnames and enumindexstruct to get the details of the table.  then open those with a tcursor scan through the details and use a ts.writeline to write to the text file. I have done similar to document and manipulate the tables in a given directory.

Table Structure export
Hi all, I would like to know if there is any way I can export the structure of all the tables from paradox using script and save as .txt. Appreciate an early response.

Changing the formula of a Calculate field via code
Does anyone know how to change the formula of a calculated field through code? I was hoping it was a property that I code adjust, but I haven't been able to find it. There's a true/false "calculatedField" property but I haven't found the actual formula. The reason I am looking is I find formulas occasionally get dropped when taking forms in and out of design. Rather than check every formula each time I open the design of a form, I'd like to automate it so it checks itself.

New Paradox User

Help!!!  I am a new Paradox user and I am not a programmer or a techie.  I've been working here for 6 months and have been able to figure out how to create basic forms and reports but I'm trying to find training or manuals that will get me to the next level.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

I found the manual for Borland's paradox 7.5 (win 95) to be a great reference. Maybe you can find it on eBay.

No luck
I didn't have any luck converting back To 7.5 I ended up cutting and pasting from the v11 to an old copy of the v7.5, which worked ok. But, I had to copy each object separately. If I tried multiples, they would loose all the text labels.

Convert a V11 form back to 7.5????
Has anybody found a way to save a V11 form back to a version 7.5 form? I work in both platforms and inadvertantly saved something important as 11 that I need as 7.5. If anyone has an idea, I am all ears. Thanks

RE: General Protection Error when ...
I have seen that when the printer I am trying to print to a print driver that is not installed on the machine I am trying to print from, generaly a peer to peer connection to another workstation printing to a printer connected to the second workstation. My experience is pdox printing is most reliable if the printer is connected directly to the workstation printing or a real work group network enabled printer with an internal print server or connected to a print server.  I also find that Parallel port or ethernet connectioned printers share better than USB printers. When I stray from the above, having the print driver installed on the printing workstation can help.  But my experience is many of the lower end desktop printers don't share well.

Paradox 11 on a Windows 2012 Terminal Server?
Does anyone have paradox 11 runtime running on a Windows 2012 Terminal Server? I have a 2008 R2 TS server running paradox 11 RT fine, but I haven't seen a 2012 TS server as of yet. Thanks

Paradox 11 Runtime on 2008 Terminal Server

I still don't know why this server went bad and still suspect the remote app publishing change as the cause.  But subsequent experience on other 2008 and 20012 servers makes me think the cfg Configuration|INI|Localshare = True setting would have solved it.  This server was restored from backup prior to the remoteapp publishing, painful, and that resolved it for this machine.

RE: Paradox 11 Help!!!!
It sounds like a custom form is trying to open but the data behind the form is not in the anticipated location. It could be that the CFG file is not pointing to the right alias locations.  There might be another action that needs to happen first to create the required table. Do you have the application running on a machine you can refer to? This might be a really simple fix, but it is tough to know without detailed information about the application.

Controling Chart Line Series properties in code
I'd like to be able to control Chart Series line properties in code.  Specifically, I am trying to control LineStyle. Chartobject.Series.Line.LineStyle = NoLine works, but it only controls the property of the first series.  I have tried Series1 and a variety of other names, but I haven't been able to find a syntax that works.  I know there is one, I have used it in the distant past, but I don't remember the syntax and I don't find it in the help. It's embarassing answering my own questions, but here it is. Use ChartObject.currentseries = smallint to specify the series Then use ChartObject.series.line.linestyle = noline Paradox defaults back to a solid line at each open of an FSL, so I use a for loop in the open event of the chartobject to go through each series and specify a line style SS
