Re: Paradox 10/11 Printing
No, if you are using lower versions, then saving them in 10 might have adverse effects. It might be worth it to run a controlled test though, to see if it solves the problem.

Re: Encrypting paradox tables
Table Security is a balance of data safety vs. usability. Paradox passwords are sufficient for the average user. The best solution I've found is to only allow users Runtime, password protect the tables, and use the client/server model whenever possible. The best defense against powerusers/hackers is frequent back up and prosecution.

Re: screen print
If you are trying to print the current form and it's contents, you can add a button to the form and label it 'Print'. Then the code in its pushButton() event should be:, , action(DataPrint)

Variable for naming objects
HELP!!!, , I need to use a variable to assign a value to an object., such as..., , var, str1 string, x smallint, endvar, , for x from 1 to 10, str1 = "lb" + strval(x), str1.value = 594, endfor, , where lb1 through lb10 are the labels of a command button., , Any suggestions?, , Thank you so very much (in advance)

Re: Variable for naming objects
Well this was a poser. However, here is what I came up with if I understand on what you are trying to do:, , for x from 1 to 10, , str1 = "lb"+strval(x), mainPage.(str1).labelText = "594", , endfor, , 'mainPage' is just what I named the page object on which the button is located. The parenthesis de-references the variable, but you can't start that line of code with one, so I simply gave the page a name and used dot notation., , On edit: Looking at this again, I may have misunderstood what you want. I assumed that you have 10 buttons on a form named lb1-lb10 and that you wanted to change the label on each of them to "594". If that's correct, then the above should work just fine. If you are trying to do something else, then we'll have at it again.

Re: Remote Location Networking
There are some solutions, not all of them are pretty., , 1) Internet VPN and switch to web-based format. Learning curve for Paradox web stuff is to be considered., , 2) PC Anywhere - pretty slow and not really a WAN., , 3) ISDN Circuit - painfully slow for Paradox. Better with Thin Client software, like Citrix, but initial configuration is problematic., , 4) T-1 Circuit - fast enough but expensive., , 5) Independant updates. In other words, two separate systems that update each other peiodically using CDs or disks. Not very practical or efficient., , I'm sure others will chime in with their thoughts.

Printer Settings
Does anyone know the reason for the following predicament:, , Using Paradox 10, , Code executes to print a report to the default printer. We call , rpi.orient = PrintLandscape, , I have two different computers that execute same code and both use same printer., , One computer sends print job to printer and in turn printer prints the report in Landscape orientation as it should., , HOWEVER, the other computer send the print job and in turn the printer prints the report in PORTRAIT orientation - which is wrong., , Any ideas?, , Thanks,, Beth

Questions:, , Are they both using the same operating system? , , Are both operating systems patched the same? , , Are both using the same printer drivers? , , Is Paradox patched on both PCs? , , These are where I would start. My guess is that it is probably a printer driver.
